| Description | GAFI - General Authority for Investment & Free Zones has recently licensed a new company under the investment law identified as Emirates Co. for Agricultural Development, capitalized at L.E. 100 million to develop and plant 100,000 feddans land in Toshki and other locations. The venture is 100 % owned by JAFCO - Joint Arab Food Co. GAFI Chairman, Dr. Eng. Mohamed El Ghamrawi, said the project plans to annually produce 15,000 tons of wheat, 32,000 tons of dentcorn, 6,300 tons of peanuts, 10,000 tons of cantaloupe & 4,300 tons of green pees. Project would generate 2,549 employment opportunities. Project total estimated investments are put at L.E. 180 million. |
