Said factory was owned by Dr. Abdel Monem Soudi (also Chairman of the Egyptian Federation Industries). Deal provides for Nissan Japan to invest up to $ 60 million over the next 2 years to revamp the factory. It targets producing 13,000 pick-ups by 2007, of which 3,800 units are targeted for export. Nissan Japan Chairman, Mr. Karlos Ghosn, revealed plans to also start assembly of Nissan Sunny (passenger car) by Summer 2005, to be followed by the assembly of Nissan X-Trail 4x4 type vehicle. |
