Project owner is Port Said Co. for Agro Industry & Land Reclamation chaired by Dr. Eng. Fahmy Maradan. Project feasibly study is prepared by a US consultant & is backed by $ 666,000 grant from the US Dept. of Commerce. Project, to occupy 150 feddans to the South of Port Said, comprises two lines, the first to extract beat sugar (70,000 tons/ year) & the second to refine raw sugar (50,000 tons/ year). Equipment will be supplied by Mitsui Co. of Japan. Project will be served by 75,000 feddans land to be grown by sugar beat. |
