| Description | On the occasion of his tour on antiquities & monuments areas accompanying both the Minister of Culture & the Minister of Tourism, (new) Mayor of Luxor Supreme City Council has announced interesting details on the earlier drawn L.E. 6 billion scheme to revamp the City till 2017. Scheme is backed by the UNDP. It comprises 6 major components including the renovation of the 3 km long Al Kebash Road linking Luxor & Karnak temples, converting the Luxor Central District into an international open museum & the building of New Thebes City to host up to 200,000 citizens. It further includes the construction of a new tourist birth, 4.5 km to the South of Luxor Bridge, of Al Tood tourist resort & of a ring road around Karnak temples. |
