Number of Russian tourists visiting Egypt has sharply increased from 500,000+ during 2003 to 600,000 during the first 9 months of 2004. Development was obviously behind a proposal of highly seen Dr. Gamal El Nazer, Chairman of EBA - Egyptian Businessmen Association, to plan for a special typical Russian oriented tourist resort. Practice would go similar to Sharm El Sheikh highly successful experience with Italians & Germans. Proposal is linked to a parallel economic scheme to boost economic bilateral trade with Russia to regain its 3 decades old level of $ 1 billion. Above plans & concepts are expected to be reviewed with the Russian Prime Minister, during his forthcoming visit to Cairo scheduled next month. On his side, Russian Minister of Industry, now visiting Egypt, has expressed full support to the above plans following his meetings with Egypt Minister of Foreign Trade & Industry, Eng. Rashid Mohamed Rashid & with EBA members. |
