| Description | Observers & market analysts have adjusted their projections regarding Egyptian cement [and clinker] exports during 2004 to reach 12 million tons instead of 10 million tons predicted previously. They indicated the adjustment is attributed to the fact that half-year cement exports reached already 6.3 million tons marking 97 % growth above their level during the same period last year [put then at 3.2 million tons]. They further revealed that the sector is operating at 90.8 % of its total design capacity put at 38 million-tons/ year and that covers all 12 companies operating in the country. To which extent the development would open new investment opportunities in the industry, alternatively reflect on shares prices on the Stock Exchange, that remains to be seen.
