| Description | Recent introduced new drinking water tariff has opened several long shelved files and shortages in the water industry. That extends to the repeated shutdown of water supply, leakage in the network, the need to repair the old and existing water meters and to avail (immediately) up to 400,000 new water meters, not to overview the existing deficit of 2 million M3/day of potable water in Greater Cairo. It is obvious that a lot of work is outstanding at the recent formed Holding Co. for Potable Water, chaired by Dr. Eng. Abdel Qawi Khalifa, reporting to the Ministry of Housing & Utilities. |
